How the Georgia 14th District 2026 Special Election Works
Georgia’s 14th Congressional District special election is held to fill a vacancy in the U.S. House of Representatives. Unlike regular partisan primaries, special elections in Georgia begin with a nonpartisan "jungle" primary where all candidates appear on the same ballot regardless of party affiliation.
Runoff Elections
If no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote in the initial special election, the top two candidates advance to a runoff election. The runoff determines the winner and is typically scheduled several weeks after the first round of voting.
What Happens After the Election?
The winner of the special election will serve the remainder of the current term representing Georgia’s 14th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Live results on this page update in real time as counties across northwest Georgia report vote totals.
