Typically, the Generic Ballot has always favored the opposition party over the President during midterms. As of now, the GOP maintains a decent lead. However, we fully expect the Generic Ballot to shift in favor of the Democrats by the end. In 2018, the Generic Ballot finished at D+8.6; we anticipate it will be no higher than D+2 this time.
