How Louisiana’s U.S. Senate Primary Runoff Works
Louisiana’s 2026 U.S. Senate election uses party primaries for major-party nominations. In a closed-party primary, voters generally receive a ballot based on their party affiliation, rather than all candidates appearing together on one open primary ballot.
If no candidate wins the required majority in a primary, the top candidates advance to a runoff election, where voters choose the party’s nominee for the general election.
America First Insight will update this page with live Louisiana Senate runoff results, vote totals, county maps, and candidate standings as results come in.
